The Sequence of How the Elite Leader Development Program Works
1) Arrange initial upfront conversations with your Talent Development Executive(s) to determine (a) if they feel this program has value to your company and (b) will more than likely meet or exceed your expectation for developing middle managers into Elite Leaders over time. If a decision is then made to test and prove the program’s claims, the following will occur.
2) Jim Foley will confer with the “sponsor” of each Elite Leader Candidate to get information on the candidate and understand the desired outcomes and potential behavior improvements desired during participation in the 12-week course.
3) I encourage the sponsor of the candidate to treat this education opportunity for the candidate as an honor and a recognition of the candidate’s performance to date and an indicator of future opportunities. It is important that the candidate recognizes this “extra work” will provide an opportunity for advancement.
4) Jim communicates with each candidate to understand both their career path goals and their expectations for the Elite Leader 12-week course. The stage of expectations should now be understood and set by Jim from both the sponsor and the candidate perspective.
5) The candidate begins the 12-week, 90-minute-per-week, Elite Leader classes that take place generally every Wednesday at 11 a.m. Eastern. Candidates are expected to plan their schedules around this live virtual class. There is a video of each class available, but it is never intended to be a substitute for in-class participation. The video is only to be used as a reference or refresher during the 12-week period.
6) After the sixth class there is a mid-term test to determine the absorption rate of the weekly content.
7) At the end of first 6 weeks there is also Progress Review with both the candidate and sponsor.
8) Every candidate will receive a digital copy of the Elite Leader Workbook.
9) Each candidate is expected to read each new chapter in advance, complete the weekly homework and be prepared to discuss how they applied what was learned the previous week.
10) Following the last 6 weeks of classes, the candidates will take a final exam.
11) Following the final exam, a final assessment will again occur with each candidate.
12) Jim will also review with each sponsor his assessment of the candidate’s readiness, potential and remaining needs, if any, to be qualified for future advancement.
13) Each candidate will be presented with a certificate indicating completion of the Elite Leader Program curriculum.
Note: During the 12-week session, in addition to the class interaction and class Q&A sessions, each candidate will have the opportunity to schedule private one-on-one time with Jim, as requested. (Sponsors may do the same)
